WHAT WE BELIEVE
We want to be GOD ORIENTATED
Scripture clearly commands us to do all things for the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31). This means that we aim to make everything about God. We want to base all our ministry upon a personal love for God and a desire to see Him glorified in all things.
We want to be a LOVING COMMUNITY
According to God without love GLO would be nothing (1 Cor. 13:2). This means that we aim to unconditionally seek the highest good of others – no matter what they are like and no matter what they do! We want to establish a caring family atmosphere based on love.
We want to be MISSION FOCUSED
Jesus clearly wants His Great Commission to become our personal mission (Matt. 28:19-20). This means that we want the words “mission” and “action” to be some of the first words that come to mind when people think of GLO. We aim to prioritise a kingdom vision as expressed in a worldwide focus on mission.
We want to be BIBLE BASED
Jesus Himself said that “man shall … live on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4). This means that GLO Ministries aims to let God’s Word have the final say. We want to give God’s Word the final authority in our ministry and to allow the New Testament to guide our church planting.
We want to be FAITH DRIVEN
The Bible clearly says that from start to finish “the righteous shall live by faith” (Rom. 1:17). This means that GLO Ministries aims to live, give and serve by faith. We want to depend daily upon God as evidenced by prayer and by looking to God to supply all our spiritual and material needs.
We want to be PARTNERSHIP ORIENTATED
Our job description is to equip God’s people for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:11-12). This means that GLO Ministries never likes to do ministry alone. We aim to partner together with Christians and the wider body of Christ.
We want to be CALLED BY GOD
It is our firm conviction that “the will of God will never lead you where the grace of God will not sustain you.” (cf. 2 Cor. 9:8). This means that when it comes to selecting team members GLO Ministries always looks for evidence of God’s calling. It also means that whenever we do ministry we always aim to prioritise God’s will. We want all our team members to serve in accordance with God’s will based upon God’s call.
We want to be SPIRIT LED
The Bible clearly says “‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty” (Zec. 4:6). This means that in all things we aim to let Jesus be the CEO of GLO by staying sensitive to His leading through the guiding of His Spirit. We endeavour to hold fast to the belief that the Holy Spirit who is within us as individuals and amongst us as a missionary movement is able to lead us into Christ’s will and empower us to carry out all that He calls us to do.
We want to be COMMITTED TO PERSONAL INTEGRITY
God is never satisfied with giftedness without godliness, which is why He exhorts us to train ourselves to be godly (1 Tim 4:7). This means that although GLO Ministries looks for both giftedness and godliness, we always prioritise godliness before giftedness. We strive to develop Christlike character and display high standards of integrity in all aspects of ministry.
We want to PRIORITISE FAITHFULNESS
1 Corinthians 4:2 says that “it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2). This means that GLO Ministries prioritises faithfulness, as opposed to successfulness, as the basis for a ministry that pleases God. God has uniquely shaped each of His people with a different capacity for ministry. We want each and every team member to fulfil their God given capacity.
We want to EMPHASISE TEAM
The Bible commands us to “stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, … but encouraging one another” (Heb. 10:24-25). This means that for GLO Ministries the meaning of T.E.A.M is “Together Everyone Achieves More”. This is more than a clichéd saying for us, instead it is a core part of our ministry culture. We value the importance of serving together as a team with an emphasis on healthy communication.
We want to PREACH THE GOSPEL
Jesus commanded us to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mk. 16:15).This means that GLO Ministries must make a continual effort to keep the “gospel” front and centre in the work of G.L.O. (i.e. Gospel Literature Outreach). We value the importance of the gospel and truly believe that it “is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Rom. 1:16).
We want to ESTABLISH NEW TESTAMENT CHURCHES
The Bible clearly states that Jesus loves the church (Eph. 5:25), that He will build His church (Matt. 16:18) and that He will display Himself through the Church (Eph. 3:10). This means that GLO Ministries exists to serve the church, not the other way around. We hold to the conviction that planting churches is the primary way to fulfil the Great Commission. Therefore, we don’t ask the church to help GLO, rather we ask how GLO can help the church.
We want to SERVE ALL OVER THE WORLD
Jesus plainly told His disciples to start the mission work right where they were and then expand their ministry to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). This means that GLO Ministries combines
